Consular & Diplomatic Affairs
Bachelor of Arts major in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs (AB-CDA)
This course is for you if you want to travel and help address the issues that affect the world.
You will learn to:
- appreciate and apply the history of foreign relations between and among the Philippines and other countries;
- practice the protocols of communicating with heads of state and conducting diplomatic events;
analyze and understand international issues;
- speak a foreign language of your choice: Chinese, Spanish or French; and
- apply diplomatic affairs skills through on-the-job training in embassies, the Department of Foreign Affairs, local United Nations agencies, and Philippine government agencies.
In Consular and Diplomatic Affairs, our students examine the interrelations of states, cultures, languages, politics and economies to gain a comprehensive understanding of global affairs. Your multidisciplinary education in social sciences, languages, and humanities primes you to have a mindset for dialogue and to have a sensibility for diverging perspectives.
Our program trains students to become professionals in international relations whose career paths lead to consular and diplomatic posts, and jobs in rights-based public and civil society organizations.
